What does Deposit too low mean on POS?

On Shopify POSPayments and signaturesUpdated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

Deposit too low means the native deposit percentage is below an item's minimum requirement.

Increase the percentage in Payment Terms, apply the terms and save before continuing.

A separate paid deposit order does not satisfy that minimum. Check the actual amount collected afterward, because Shopify POS checkout can accept less than the required deposit.

Can we move existing orders, deposits and paperwork into OrderPilot?

Confirm the migration scope before relying on OrderPilot to carry over existing orders, deposits and paperwork. Catalog CSV import covers templates, options and values; it is not a confirmed import route for historical sales. Shopify drafts created outside OrderPilot are not automatically adopted.

How can I take a deposit on a custom sofa in Shopify?

You can take a partial payment through Shopify POS where supported, or use native percentage deposit terms on Shopify Plus. Shopify documents POS partial payments and draft-order deposit terms. POS availability depends on device settings and country restrictions.

OrderPilot also creates separate deposit-order links on any Shopify plan before the main sale is placed. The paid deposit is credited against the main draft. That route is created in the admin app; OrderPilot's Take Deposit route on POS requires Plus.
