Can we move existing orders, deposits and paperwork into OrderPilot?

Getting started and supportUpdated 4 Nov 2026

Short answer

Confirm the migration scope before relying on OrderPilot to carry over existing orders, deposits and paperwork.

Catalog CSV import covers templates, options and values; it is not a confirmed import route for historical sales. Shopify drafts created outside OrderPilot are not automatically adopted.

Can I import my existing open orders and quotes?

No. OrderPilot does not import existing open quotes or orders; create those records in OrderPilot. CSV imports are available for product templates and options.

Prepare your catalog first, then create the open sales your team needs to continue managing.

Can I use one of my existing locations for Order New?

No. Only a location created through OrderPilot's Create made-to-order location action receives the free made-to-order role.

Renaming an existing Shopify location does not qualify it. Items already waiting at an older destination keep that saved destination; new Order New items require an explicit made-to-order location choice.

Why can't a deposit order meet a product's minimum deposit?

A separate deposit order does not count toward a product's minimum-deposit check. OrderPilot checks the native deposit percentage in Shopify payment terms or full payment.

Native percentage deposits require Shopify Plus. Set eligible native terms or collect the full payment before proceeding; an authorized exception records a bypass, not a paid deposit.

Why does a deposit create a separate Shopify order?

OrderPilot's separate deposit route creates a taxable Shopify order for the deposit amount. Once paid, the deposit counts in Paid and is credited against the main draft as a discount.

The main sale keeps its full total, while its checkout balance reflects the deposit already received. Native Shopify deposit terms use a different route.
