I set a default split method. Why does Add charge open on By value?
Add charge opens on By value even when you saved another Default split method.
Choose the intended split inside each charge and check the allocation preview before saving. The saved purchasing default does not currently determine the dialog's initial selection.

From other topicsWill changing the default email theme change my wording?
No. Changing Default email theme preserves blocks, wording, and subjects while replacing the theme and colors across active customer and vendor templates. The change includes default and brand versions.
Live templates on another theme receive a new published version; unpublished edits remain unpublished. Scheduled emails keep the design selected when they were scheduled.

Why is By weight greyed out when I add a charge?
By weight is unavailable because purchase orders do not record unit weights. Choose By value, By quantity or Manual instead.
A value split needs known vendor costs; a manual split needs all shares to add up to the charge. Check the allocation preview before saving.

Does changing the costing method restate past sales?
No. A sale keeps the costing method and cost already assigned to it.
Switching from moving weighted average to FIFO or LIFO starts with the next delivery; existing stock keeps its assigned average. The change does not reconstruct old batches or reprice past sales.

Can I charge duty to one option instead of the whole sofa?
Yes. In Add charge, choose Specific items or options and select the option the charge covers.
Review the allocation and Landed / unit before saving. Assigning a charge to a fabric option changes that option's cost without spreading it across the rest of the sofa.
