Can one furniture order involve several vendors?

Selling made-to-order on ShopifyUpdated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

Yes, OrderPilot groups a customer order's purchasing lines by vendor, so one sale can lead to several purchase orders.

A PO can also combine lines from several customers when they belong to the same vendor. Each customer-linked line keeps its connection to the original sale, including the configured specification and receiving progress.

Why does a template read No vendor?

No vendor means the template has no available vendor, including when its assigned vendors are inactive. Staff can still add the template, but the new line needs an active vendor. Open the template's Organization settings and choose vendors, or enable Offer all vendors to include active vendors added later.

Can I delete a vendor?

No. Open the vendor at SettingsPurchasing & accountingVendors, turn off Active Vendor, and click Update Vendor.

The inactive vendor leaves pickers while its history remains. Turn Active Vendor back on when staff should be able to choose it again.

A vendor appeared that I never added. Where did it come from?

OrderPilot creates a missing vendor when someone chooses a Shopify product with that vendor on a quote. Installation and Sync from Shopify also bring in vendor names.

New imported vendors are active Shopify records. Open the vendor to add purchasing contact details, since a Shopify vendor name does not supply a purchase-order email address.

Why did my vendor's display name change back?

Matching a vendor with Shopify can reset Display Name to Shopify's spelling. That can happen during Sync from Shopify or when someone selects a Shopify product from that vendor. Check the vendor name used in Shopify before changing the display name again.
