Why is the tax on a new quote only an estimate?

On Shopify POSShowroom (POS)Updated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

Tax is an estimate before the quote is saved because Shopify sets the final tax after saving and syncing.

POS can show Estimated tax or By Shopify while you build the quote. Save the quote, wait for Shopify's calculation, and review the final total before taking payment.

Why are costs still estimated after all goods arrive?

Receiving every unit does not make costs final if a relevant charge is still marked Estimated. Review the confirmed bill, edit the charge, choose Final, and save.

Missing vendor costs must also be filled in. Finalizing the PO is a separate action from confirming the actual amounts.

Can OrderPilot calculate a delivery estimate for made-to-order furniture?

Yes, OrderPilot calculates an internal delivery promise from vendor build time, the slowest option, transfer time and customer delivery time. Pickup skips the customer-delivery stage.

The complete promise appears in the admin app, not on POS, PDFs, emails or the customer portal. Placed orders keep their recorded promise when later catalog lead times change.

Why aren't estimated charges on my QuickBooks bill?

OrderPilot holds estimated charges out of QuickBooks until you mark them final. Confirm the actual charge and finalize it before expecting the purchasing sync to include it. Check the purchase order's QuickBooks card afterward.

Receipt bills and later corrections follow the recorded purchasing work, so an estimate alone isn't a posted charge.
