Does OrderPilot process our customers' card payments?

OrderPilot and ShopifyUpdated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

Customer checkout payments go through Shopify, with OrderPilot tracking the payment result and remaining balance.

Payment links open the relevant Shopify checkout, and showroom payments use Shopify POS.

Staff can also record money received elsewhere, such as a bank transfer. Recording a payment in OrderPilot does not charge the customer's card.

How do I record a cash or check payment?

Open Collect payment on the order to record cash, a check or a bank transfer you have already received. The action does not charge the customer.

On a draft, recording the whole payment also creates the Shopify order. On a placed order without Shopify Plus, Mark as paid records the whole outstanding balance.

Why does the payment button say Create Order?

Create Order means the sale has payment due later and no deposit due now. Tapping it places the order in Shopify without collecting money.

Complete any required signature before continuing. The balance remains outstanding and must be collected later.

Why is the payment button greyed and reading Paid in full?

Paid in full is greyed out because the balance due is $0 and there is nothing more to collect. A valid zero-total sale can show the same state. Check the sale's paid amount and balance before attempting another payment.

Why is Take Payment greyed out on a quote?

Taking payment on a quote requires Convert quotes to orders, because payment places the sale as an order. Tap the information icon beside the greyed control for the exact reason.

Payment also waits for saving and tax calculation. A quote in review needs approval access; a locked status can require Force Edit locked orders.
