Why does the button say Take Payment instead of Take Deposit?

On Shopify POSPayments and signaturesUpdated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

Take Payment appears when the amount due now includes more than a deposit, such as items leaving with the customer today.

Take Deposit appears when only the deposit is due.

Review Due now on Pickup or Delivery? before continuing so the amount matches what the customer takes home.

Why is there no payment button on a saved POS draft?

Save as Draft keeps unfinished work in OrderPilot without creating a Shopify draft order, so that record has no payment button. Finish the required details and create the quote or order when ready. Shopify then calculates tax, and the available payment action reflects the amount and terms due.

Why does a line say about 8 weeks instead of the exact days?

OrderPilot shows rounded weeks for lead times of 14 days or more, so the estimate reads like a vendor's usual timeframe. Click the line's lead-time label to see the exact days for vendor build, options, transfer and customer delivery. Durations below 14 days are shown in days.

Can we move existing orders, deposits and paperwork into OrderPilot?

Confirm the migration scope before relying on OrderPilot to carry over existing orders, deposits and paperwork. Catalog CSV import covers templates, options and values; it is not a confirmed import route for historical sales. Shopify drafts created outside OrderPilot are not automatically adopted.

Can I charge duty to one option instead of the whole sofa?

Yes. In Add charge, choose Specific items or options and select the option the charge covers.

Review the allocation and Landed / unit before saving. Assigning a charge to a fabric option changes that option's cost without spreading it across the rest of the sofa.
