Payments and signaturesUpdated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

Yes. Choose ••• > Apply store credit and enter an amount within the customer's available credit and the balance due.

A draft can use partial credit on any Shopify plan. A placed order allows partial credit on Shopify Plus; without Plus, the credit must cover the whole outstanding balance.

Does rejecting damaged goods create a vendor credit?

No. Rejecting goods records the rejected quantity and reason; it does not create a vendor refund or credit.

Keep rejected units out of accepted stock. Arrange the replacement or credit with the vendor, then record any later cost correction against the relevant goods.

Who gets credit for a sale made on a shared iPad?

In PIN-based mode, a new sale credits the identified staff member who entered their PIN. With register-account access, that person receives credit when OrderPilot recognizes them and the device account can change sales credit.

Otherwise, credit goes to the account signed in on the iPad. Check Sold by before saving the sale.

Does giving someone sales credit let them see the order?

Sales credit alone does not grant access to an order. For a role limited to assigned records, the primary salesperson owns the record and determines that access.

Adding someone as a secondary salesperson does not make them its owner. Use Make primary and save when you intend to hand over ownership, with the required reassignment permission.

Whose sales credit reaches Shopify POS checkout?

Shopify POS checkout credits the first, primary salesperson when an OrderPilot draft goes into checkout. Shopify allows one staff member per checkout line.

OrderPilot keeps its own saved sales split. A sale credited to several people in OrderPilot can show only the primary person in Shopify checkout.
