Why is the salesperson copied on every customer email?

In the appQuotes and ordersUpdated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

OrderPilot automatically copies the order's salespeople on customer order emails so they can follow the sale.

When sending an email manually, review Cc and remove anyone who should not receive that message. Check the shop's Copies of customer emails settings too if other unexpected addresses appear.

Does assigning an Inbox conversation change the order's salesperson?

No. The Inbox assignee is separate from the order's owner, its primary salesperson. Assign the conversation to an eligible teammate when they should handle the messages.

Only people who can reply to that conversation appear in the assignee list. Changing ownership of the sale is a separate action requiring order reassignment permission.

Why can't a salesperson see the Commission tab?

The salesperson's role needs View own commission to see their personal Commission report. Starter roles do not automatically include commission permissions. An authorized administrator can add the permission under SettingsStaff & rolesRoles.

View all commission and profit is the broader permission for seeing everyone's commission.

Why do salesperson quote counts add up to more than the total?

A quote counts for every salesperson credited on it, so adding individual quote counts can count the same quote more than once. The Total is not the sum of those overlapping counts. Revenue follows each person's sales-credit share instead, with uncredited value under Unassigned.

Does each salesperson need their own POS login?

No separate email-and-password sign-in is needed between salespeople using a shared register. Each person still needs their own Shopify POS PIN and an OrderPilot staff record.

In Access rules, choose The staff member signed in with their PIN under Whose role applies. Their OrderPilot access is then limited by both their own role and the register account.
