How can we include freight and duty in a custom furniture order's cost?

Selling made-to-order on ShopifyUpdated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

You can include freight and duty as additional costs in Shopify's native purchase-order transfer workflow.

OrderPilot adds allocated freight, duty and other charges to vendor cost to calculate landed cost per unit. Charges can be split by value, quantity or a manual allocation; allocation by weight is unavailable.

The cost remains estimated when relevant charges are estimated, and missing vendor costs prevent a final total. Customer-specific purchases retain their assigned costs.

Can customers configure furniture and pay through our Shopify website?

Customers can configure furniture and request a quote through OrderPilot on your Shopify website, then pay through a shared payment link. Website features start on Growth and require theme setup. Direct buying for configured products depends on the available ordering route; do not assume ordinary Add to cart checkout is ready.

Which plan includes the customer portal and website quote requests?

OrderPilot Growth and Professional include the customer portal, shared Inbox, website selling and quote requests. Growth also adds trade accounts, customer profile features, text updates and sales commission. Essentials includes the showroom and back-office quote-to-delivery tools, but those additional online and customer-conversation features require Growth or Professional.

Does an enforced vendor minimum include freight and tax?

No. An enforced vendor value minimum uses the goods subtotal, excluding shipping, tax and landed-cost charges.

An unknown item cost blocks sending when that value minimum is enforced. Drafts can still be saved below the minimum; correct the items or costs before sending.

Where do I change my logo for emails and the customer portal?

Open SettingsBrandingCustomer portal and use Logo in the shared Brand section. In Frame your logo, position the image and check its Logo and Square mark versions, then click Apply and save. The kit supplies the logo across customer assets; each supported asset has its own placement controls.
