Why does Create Quote say a field is Required?

Quotes and ordersUpdated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

Your shop requires information that is still missing from the quote or order.

Fill the fields marked Required, including any required Quote information fields, then try creating the sale again. POS cannot scroll to each missing field automatically.

Save as Draft lets you keep unfinished work while those details are still missing.

Is Required set on the option or on the template?

Set When ordering to Required or Optional on the bundle or template. The shared option page has no Required control. A bundle also offers Inherit, which uses the option's stored Required setting; choose an explicit requirement when staff must complete the choice.

Can Shopify POS create quotes?

Shopify POS Pro can save a cart as a draft order for completion later, which supports a basic quote workflow. Shopify explains its draft-order route.

OrderPilot adds a Create Quote tile for configurable furniture, with saved product choices, live pricing and customer signatures. The quote stays connected to payments and vendor purchasing. OrderPilot's POS extension does not require POS Pro.

Why does the payment button say Create Order?

Create Order means the sale has payment due later and no deposit due now. Tapping it places the order in Shopify without collecting money.

Complete any required signature before continuing. The balance remains outstanding and must be collected later.

Why does a deposit create a separate Shopify order?

OrderPilot's separate deposit route creates a taxable Shopify order for the deposit amount. Once paid, the deposit counts in Paid and is credited against the main draft as a discount.

The main sale keeps its full total, while its checkout balance reflects the deposit already received. Native Shopify deposit terms use a different route.
