What do I do when POS says the order was created but payment did not open?
Open Shopify POS's Orders, find the existing order, and collect payment there.
Follow the message for the already-created order instead of making another quote. Review the order number and amount before collecting money; creating the order did not itself take payment.

From other topicsDoes OrderPilot process our customers' card payments?
Customer checkout payments go through Shopify, with OrderPilot tracking the payment result and remaining balance. Payment links open the relevant Shopify checkout, and showroom payments use Shopify POS.
Staff can also record money received elsewhere, such as a bank transfer. Recording a payment in OrderPilot does not charge the customer's card.
Do payments and fulfillment recorded in Shopify update OrderPilot?
Yes, Shopify sends payment, fulfillment, refund and cancellation updates back to linked OrderPilot sales. Staff can follow the customer sale without entering those events twice.
Updates are processed in the background, so check the sync and payment states before continuing. A customer signature, payment and delivery are separate facts about the sale.

How do I record a cash or check payment?
Open Collect payment on the order to record cash, a check or a bank transfer you have already received. The action does not charge the customer.
On a draft, recording the whole payment also creates the Shopify order. On a placed order without Shopify Plus, Mark as paid records the whole outstanding balance.
Why does the button say Take Payment instead of Take Deposit?
Take Payment appears when the amount due now includes more than a deposit, such as items leaving with the customer today. Take Deposit appears when only the deposit is due.
Review Due now on Pickup or Delivery? before continuing so the amount matches what the customer takes home.
