Should I include Not earned yet when paying commission?

In the appReportsUpdated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

No. Not earned yet is a forecast of what open quotes from the selected period would earn.

Use Earned for commission already earned under your store's rules, and review refunds, shares and earning dates before preparing payment.

Exporting a payroll report does not pay anyone.

Does commission include shipping, tax and fees?

Commission based on Net merchandise excludes tax, shipping and fees and uses product value after discounts. Gross profit uses that net merchandise value minus item costs. The rate applies to each salesperson's share, so check both the saved split and the applicable rate when reviewing commission.

Will a new commission rate change commission already earned?

By default, a new rate applies only to new commission. When a rate changes can instead be set to Recalculate earned commission too in Commissions.

Review that setting before changing a rate. Commission codes can take precedence over a salesperson's personal rate.

Why does an option value show Included?

Included means the option value adds $0 to the template's base price. Cost is separate: a cost of $0 reads Free, while an empty cost means unknown. Check the template's override before changing the shared option price, because a template can use its own amount.

Does the customer need to sign before paying?

Yes, when the quote or order requires a signature. OrderPilot's payment link takes the customer to signing first; Sign first, then pay explains the hold. If the signature requirement is waived, payment can proceed without signing.

A product requirement, a signature request sent to the customer, or a later change can make signing necessary.
