Can I delete a status that orders are using?

In the appStatuses and workflowUpdated 2 Nov 2026

Short answer

No. Move all current orders out of a custom status, remove its map connections, and publish that map change before deleting it.

Built-in statuses cannot be deleted. To retire a shop-created status without deleting its record, untick Active and save; it leaves the picker and stops being eligible for purchase orders.

No. Existing orders keep their own copy of a saved fee's name, amount and settings.

Does restoring an order also restore its old status?

No. Restoring a quote or order leaves its status, review flag, customer's current profile and costs unchanged. The comparison shows which saved fields will change.
