OrderPilot opens on an unexpected screen, or an action ends with an error. Read the message first: it identifies an access problem, a subscription check or a failed action.
For a failed action, keep the error ID. It lets support find the specific failure without asking you to recreate it.
Check these first
Which message appears?
Keep the complete heading and any reason beneath it. Different blocking screens need different fixes.
Which person is signed in?
Access messages show the affected person. A role or location change must apply to that person.
Which record was open?
Keep the quote, order or purchase order number, plus what you were trying to do.
A permission problem needs someone who manages staff access. A subscription problem needs someone who manages billing. An error ID helps support investigate a failed action.
Resolve a blocking screen
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| Get started with OrderPilot | There is no active subscription. Someone with Manage billing needs to review the subscription. |
| Billing couldn't be checked | Shopify did not answer the subscription check. The app pauses temporarily; nothing about the plan has changed. |
| Ask an admin for access | You need a role in OrderPilot. Ask one of the people named on the screen. |
| Your access is suspended | An administrator needs to restore your access. |
| Your role allows POS access only | Your role does not allow OrderPilot inside Shopify admin. |
| You can't open | Your role lacks access to the named area. Use Go to Home to leave the blocked page. |
Step 1: Follow the named access fix
For a role problem, ask a named administrator to use Give staff access. Tell them which person and page the message identifies.
The screen lists the store owner first, followed by up to 5 people who can assign roles. An administrator can then review your access.
Step 2: Retry a temporary billing check
For Billing couldn't be checked, wait a minute and click Try again. OrderPilot checks whether it can open the app.
If you instead see Get started with OrderPilot, follow Subscription and locations. Do not treat a temporary check failure as a request to change your plan.
Resolve a view-only register
Step 1: Read the register message
If the message says This register is view only, the person using the PIN is not set up in OrderPilot.
Ask a manager to add that person in Staff & roles. Shared iPads and PINs explains how the register identifies staff.
Step 2: Keep any additional error
If another message appears, read it in full and note whether it ends with an error ID. Keep the current screen and the attempted action together.
Not every POS error has an ID. The exact message still gives your manager or support a starting point.
Send support the error ID
Step 1: Copy the page's ID
On Something went wrong, find Error ID and click Copy. Copied error ID confirms the copy.
The displayed spaces make the ID easier to read. You can keep those spaces when sending it.
Step 2: Copy an error toast's ID
If a red toast offers Copy error ID, click it before the toast closes. These toasts remain visible for at least 10 seconds.
The copy confirmation appears after success. Access-denied and sign-in errors do not receive this toast action.
Step 3: Send the details
Send the copied ID, record number, screen and action from the Support page, or email support@meetorderpilot.com. Include the approximate time and your shop.
Support can use the ID to find the failure. The ID itself contains no customer, order or staff data.
Step 4: Record the message
Read the Error ID at the end of the POS message. Photograph it or write it down; POS does not offer a copy action.
Check that every character is readable before leaving the message. Use Fix problems on POS for broader register problems.
Step 5: Send the details
Send the ID, record number, screen and attempted action from the Support page, or email support@meetorderpilot.com. Include the approximate time and shop.
If there is no ID, send those details with the exact message. Support still receives enough context to begin investigating.
Example: a failed quote save
Sam Ortiz saves Olivia Bennett's Linden Sofa quote and receives a red error toast. Sam copies its error ID before closing it.
Sam emails the ID and quote number with the action and time. Support can look up that failure without relying on a description such as “saving broke.”
If it still fails
If copying is refused, Could not copy. Error ID … stays visible for 20 seconds. Write down or photograph the displayed ID.
Page not found has no error ID. Send the shop, page and time instead.
For a temporary billing-check failure, wait a minute and retry the refused action. If the message persists, include it in your support email.
