Fix a problem on your online store

Your product page has no options, a quote-only product still shows prices, or Add to Quote appears on the wrong products. A customer may also have bought a template's base product without choosing its options.

Start with the affected product and the published theme. A working preview or another product's page does not prove this page uses the same setup.

Check these first

Confirm the template is active, the store-wide template switch is on, and its mode is not Not on the online store.

Its badge should read Live on the online store. Review Theme setup for both the options block and the app embed.

Check the last save and sync before repeating changes. Shopify's storefront cache can keep old values for minutes and sometimes hours.

Use Set up your theme for the checklist and Put a template online for its individual mode.

Options are missing

  1. Step 1: Check the assigned product template

In the theme editor, open the product-page template assigned to the affected product. Confirm OrderPilot options is present above the buying controls.

Save any correction and use Check again in OrderPilot. An alternate product template may need its own block.

The app embed can place options when a page has no block, but it still needs the product's published option information.

  2. Step 2: Read the publication warning

If the page says Options for this product aren't available online right now, wait for the template sync and storefront cache.

The page hides buying controls while its required option information is unavailable. Check the template's sync state before changing the theme again.

For Sync failed, fix the cause and choose Retry sync. Follow Templates and Shopify products for that recovery.

  3. Step 3: Reduce an oversized configuration

Check Theme setup and the template for a warning that its online options are too large. The warning names affected templates.

Offer fewer values or shorten names and descriptions, then save. A configuration above 128,000 bytes is not published.

Check the next sync and the product page again. Adding another theme block will not fix an oversized configuration.

Quote-only products still show prices

  1. Step 1: Enable the app embed

In Theme setup, find the embed warning and choose Turn on in theme editor.

Turn on OrderPilot configurator, save in Shopify, then return and click Check again. The embed row should confirm its state.

The options block alone does not hide prices on collection and search cards. Keep the embed enabled as part of the quote-only setup.

  2. Step 2: Check the covered product count

Read any warning about the oldest quote-only products. The embed's card list covers a limited number of the newest products.

If the warning says some are uncovered, reduce the number of templates in Request a quote mode to fit the covered set.

Review the affected older product cards afterward. The warning describes a card-list limit, not a missing option on the product itself.

  3. Step 3: Check search and theme-specific prices

For predictive search in Dawn, turn off Show product price in the search settings when those prices should not appear.

For another price element, review Extra selector to hide on the app embed with your theme maintainer.

Sticky buying bars in separate sections and nonstandard price wording can need their own selector. Check the exact element rather than hiding unrelated page content.

Add to Quote is wrong

  1. Step 1: Check the product and block

Confirm Add to Quote is on the assigned template for a regular Shopify product.

For an OrderPilot template product, the block deliberately steps aside for the options block. Configure the template's online mode instead.

The page should offer the quote route appropriate to its product type.

  2. Step 2: Review quote eligibility

Open SettingsOnline storeQuote eligibility. Inspect active groups, their Include and Exclude conditions, and Match across groups.

Use Quote Shopify products online to check the combined logic. Inactive groups do not affect the storefront.

A product can qualify through another group when the across-group rule uses ANY. Review all active groups before changing one exclusion.

  3. Step 3: Repair unavailable collections

If Quote rules are not applied on product pages appears, check the collection named by the active group.

Make it available on Online Store or choose another collection, then click Check again. The banner clears when the rule can be evaluated.

Until rules publish correctly, Add to Quote can appear broadly. Submission still refuses an ineligible product, so visible buttons do not override the final eligibility check.

A product sold without options

  1. Step 1: Identify the buying entry point

Check whether the customer used collection quick-add, search or another direct cart route. A bare template variant can enter the cart at its base price.

While configured Shopify-cart buying is unavailable, checkout does not prevent every route around the options block.

That means the product page can look correct while another entry point still permits an incomplete purchase.

  2. Step 2: Close the affected route

Review Extra selector to hide, including for Buy online templates. Check predictive search and any quick-add controls in the theme.

Alternatively, use Request a quote where that fits the product. The embed hides price and quick-add on covered quote-only cards.

Check the same entry point again after the change. Hiding one product-page button does not establish that collection and search routes are closed.

  3. Step 3: Review the existing Shopify order

Inspect the purchased product and its missing configuration in Shopify. Resolve the incomplete purchase with the customer, including cancellation where appropriate.

Do not assume OrderPilot has a complete configurable line for that sale.

If it still fails

Contact support at support@meetorderpilot.com with the product, page address, visible message and any error ID.

Include the template's online mode, sync state and assigned product-page template. Describe whether the problem happens on the product page, collection card or search result.

That evidence distinguishes publication, theme placement and alternate-cart-route problems without changing unrelated settings.
